Macallan 74 Year Old Red Collection

The Red Collection is an exquisite range of distinguished and rare single malt scotch whiskies which capture The Macallan’s deep respect for tradition and craftsmanship. The distinctive red colour is inspired by The Macallan ‘Choice Old’ range, released over a century ago in 1903, and brought to life by beautiful illustrations by acclaimed Spanish painter and illustrator Javi Aznarez.

The Macallan 74 Year Old is made in sherry seasoned casks and bottled at 42.6% abv.

The nose has a wonderfully sweet and fruity combination: rich baked plum combined with orange oil and vanilla. Aromatic peat is the first thing to appear on the palate and remains throughout the taste. There’s also caramelised pear with toasted hazelnuts, moving into a rich clove and a cocoa dusted truffle. A long, dry peat finish ensues with treacle toffee and light citrus.
